Tape is Dead!
Backup redesign has become an imperative for enterprise IT managers who continue to struggle with the sheer volume of data from new applications, the proliferation of virtualisation, creation of electronic document stores and document sharing, use of Web 2.0 technologies, and the retention or preservation of digital records.
With constrained IT budgets, the need to curb data growth is heightened as firms look to reduce capital and operating costs. From a physical perspective, many datacenter managers are also dealing with limited infrastructure in terms of power, cooling, and floor space.
Continued investment in tape-based systems will inevitably result in an inability to meet service level agreements, backup windows, and recovery time objectives.
The demand for data deduplication is escalating as firms look for ways to keep pace with the near doubling of storage growth annually, and reducing costs by accelerating storage efficiency, and alleviating constrained datacenters.

Juniper Assessed as Leader for Enterprise Firewalls
The Leaders quadrant contains a mix of large and midsize vendors, with the common element of making products that are built for enterprise requirements. These requirements include a wide range of models, support for virtualization and virtual LANs, and a management and reporting capability that is designed for complex and high-volume environments, such as multitier administration and rules/policy minimization.
A next-generation firewall capability is an important element as enterprises move away from having dedicated IPS appliances at their perimeter and remote locations. Vendors in this quadrant lead the market in offering new safeguarding features, providing expert capability, rather than treating the firewall as a commodity, and having a good track record of avoiding vulnerabilities in their security products. Common characteristics include handling the highest throughput with minimal performance loss and options for hardware acceleration.
'Juniper is assessed as a leader for enterprises, because we continuously see it competing and winning in demanding selections, and displacing competitors based on its vision or features.'
